ColorGuessr respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.
Information We Collect
Authentication
We use Firebase Authentication to sign you in. Depending on how you register, this may include:
- Email address and password (email accounts)
- Google Sign-In (email and basic profile information from Google)
- Anonymous “guest” accounts (no email until you link an account)
Game & account data
Your gameplay and profile data are stored in Firebase and may include:
- Display name (player ID)
- Scores, stats, streaks, and game history by mode
- Level, XP, badges, achievements, and featured badge
- Weekly mission progress and related weekly badges
- Leaderboard-related data (daily, weekly, monthly, and all-time scores)
- Preferences and in-app progression rewards (e.g. profile frame, leaderboard name styling)
Leaderboards (visible to other players)
If you appear on leaderboards, other signed-in users may see your display name, scores, level badge, and weekly mission badge (when applicable). Leaderboard rankings are generated from stored game data.
Advertising
We use Google AdMob to show ads in the app, including:
- Banner ads on the home screen and in game modes
- Optional rewarded video ads (for example, extra Daily Challenge tries if you choose to watch)
AdMob may collect device and advertising-related information to serve and measure ads, in accordance with Google’s policies and your device settings.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used and to improve it. This may include:
- Screens and game modes you use
- Game session events (such as mode, difficulty, score, and rounds played)
- Ad placement impressions (which screen showed an ad)
- Device and app usage information, and crash/diagnostic data
Analytics is tied to your app installation, not your email address. We do not intentionally send your email or password to Analytics.
Support messages
If you contact us through the in-app support form, we collect the name, email, and message you provide, along with your user ID, app version, and platform.
App configuration
When signed in, the app may read general configuration from our servers (for example, whether a newer app version is available and a link to the Play Store). We may store on your device which update notice you dismissed.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide app features (login, gameplay, stats, missions, badges, leaderboards, and account linking)
- To show and measure ads (where enabled)
- To analyze usage and improve performance and features
- To respond to support requests
- To maintain and secure your account and data
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data.
We use service providers that process data on our behalf to run the app, including:

These providers handle data under their own privacy policies and our instructions as applicable.
Data is encrypted in transit. Firebase stores data with Google’s security practices.
Data Retention
We keep account and game data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion (see User Rights).
User Rights
You may request access to or deletion of your account data at any time by contacting us at the email below. If you signed in with Google, you can also manage some Google account permissions through your Google account settings.
Children’s Privacy
ColorGuessr is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
